Weekly Snapshot: Momentum

Momentum is the unsung hero of our lives. 

Not many people understand the role momentum plays in our lives.

Here’s a scenario: you start going to the gym. It’s been three weeks, and the effort required to go to the gym has significantly reduced. Suddenly, something happens, and you miss the gym for five days. It feels like a struggle when you try to resume your routine and get back to the gym. Relatable?

I call this the loss of momentum. 

As I have observed:

Energy Required to Stop & Continue > Energy Required to Stay Moving

This loss of momentum is a real threat to progress because it increases inertia. 

Just remember that if you’re doing something or working towards a goal, try to minimize disruptions to your routine. Build a system that helps you maintain momentum and be religious about it. 

Optimization of momentum is a smart strategy to get where you want to go, faster.

💪 Wins of the week

  1. Work was quite fulfilling - working on challenging tasks and thinking outside the box!
  2. Had a great conversation with a CEO of an energy solutions company. Energy is the next big thing and I feel excited entering the new industry.

🧐 Challenges & Learnings

  1. Regaining momentum has been very hard! It’s easier to stay consistent versus regaining back rythym after a long disruption. Not worth it.
  2. I’m struggling with taking the next step. I’m being very careful and deliberate on purpose, but it’s not my style. Although I feel it is the right thing to do at the moment.

🎯 Goals for Next Week

  1. Complete the initial pitch deck for energy storage manufacturing. Goal is to be in a position to raise funds!
  2. Reach out to construction companies for interviews!
  3. Wrap up the last 1% of work on an AI project I have been building.
  4. Accelerate the pace at work to release 2.0 on time!
  5. Stay focused and grateful.

📖 My Readings

I’ll wrap up the book on Elon Musk next week. It’s quite fascinating tbh - Musk’s level of conviction is truly unmatched.
