Hi Friends,

The endings are interesting - significant, nostalgic, motivating, and change-inducing. When something nears its end - a year, a relationship, or life - it triggers a few involuntary actions. We automatically find ourselves reflecting on the time passed. We try to draw lessons and define our next steps. More importantly, we go through a back-and-forth between fear and excitement. It can be tricky to differentiate between the two, but it is an emotional roller coaster.

The endings signify a change of state, which is a perfect catalyst for change within. We like to remain at rest - staying away from chaos. Ending removes rest from our lives and forces us towards action. It is why people change after something ends (college ends, a relationship ends, sickness ends, a job ends).

It is enough data to conclude: to bring change, find moments or events near their ends, and use their inevitable momentum to initiate change in your life. As 2024 begins, 2023 ends. 2023 had 365 days where we had the choice to BE and to DO.
Start by asking yourself: how much did you “DO” and “BE” in 2023? Once you have an answer, define 3-5 goals and set in motion a plan to achieve them.

Honestly, there couldn’t be a better time.

💪 Wins of the week

  1. We’re making positive progress toward major upcoming deadlines and product development. I’m happy that I get to work with exceptional team members who care about the company and bring in their best every single day.
  2. My cluster headache medication got the insurance company's approval - headaches are subsiding and it feels good to make progress towards good health.

🧐 Challenges & Learnings

  1. Being your true self is difficult. Our lives are so entangled that even if we want to be, it’s simply not ideal. I have been facing a similar challenge.
  2. Clarity is the biggest driver of growth. If you know what you want, you’ll get it. Wandering can be rewarding, but can be too damn hard.

🎯 Goals for Next Week

Next week is all about getting shit done and growing my sense of purpose.

  1. Focus on health - physical and mental.
  2. Finalize goals and timelines for 2024.

📖 My Readings

I’ve been reading about energy transition and battery storage - topics that I see dominate 2024.

🎬 My YouTube Video

As we end this year, here are the top three lessons that shaped my 2023. I hope you find a bit of wisdom in these lessons.

✍️ Quote of the Week

“A happy, calm, and peaceful person will make better decisions. So if you want to operate at peak performance, you have to learn how to tame your mind"
